Golden retriever puppies live to be from 12-16 years old. Do you know how long you will be living in your parent's home? Do you plan to go to college or get married? Do you know where you will be in 15 years, when the old dog is needing very special care?

Your parents know that they are apt to get stuck with the dog when you have moved out, so it is really up to them to make the decision about whether they want the care and expense of a dog for its entire lifetime, even if you are the primary caretaker of it as a puppy.

If you can convince them that THEY really want or need the dog, then go for it!

First act mature, don't whine and complain about not having one. Second, think really long and hard about if you actually want one. Are you going away anytime soon? I'm guessing you're stilla student- what if you go out of town for college/university? It's likely you wouldn't be able to bring the dog with you. Is it fair to leave it with your parents? Would they give it up to a shelter? Do you just want a puppy as a passing trend or novelty? If you already have a dog, try spending more time with it first.

Well, how old are you and how many pets' do u have first of all?
If they say no just go with that and when u get older then ask them again, but don't fight with them ok!!!
Here is another idea, tell them that your mature enough to have a dog and clean up after it!!!

Listen to your parents until you can pay them rent and your share of the bills. Then you have a right to complain and beg.

You are lucky to have a dog of your own as it is.

you may just have to wait till you grow up and move out, that's what I had to do. my parents wouldn't even let me have a hamster if I paid for everything myself.

enjoy the animals you do have.
