It was quite grim and rundown - the harbour area was very industrial looking. However it has recently undergone (and is still undergoing) considerable regeneration and is becoming much nicer.

Ramsgate, Kent? I shared a house at uni with a lad from there. Remember that it was by the sea and pretty small - sounded alright though. I wonder where he is now...Andy if you are by any slim chance reading this - get in touch!!
