Well, if you like a loose, San Francisco kind of environment in a much smaller city, go to Eugene!!

Eugene is wonderful and has it all!
Lower rent than Portland, though higher than many other places in Oregon. Eugene is a great cultural center, with still a strong "counter culture" atmosphere. You can enjoy just about everything there, including a lot of outdoor activities, a massive bike path system, and wonderful parks.

Go to Eugene area websites to find out more.
There are a number of small towns near Eugene where rent is cheaper and the commute is 15 miles or so ... such as Veneta, Harrisburg, Junction City, Pleasant Hill, Marcola, and others. There is a really good cross of country/city in the Eugene area.

Oregon's a big place, depends what you want and are looking for. Majority of the population in the Willamette Valley. Big City life Portland. Skiing in Bend. The Coast, Eastern Oregon, Siskiyou's, Cascades, all different. Better just go and take a look, maybe you won't like it. Maybe you will. High unemployment. Lovely scenery. Lot of Californians move out to the woods, get bored and after a year sell and move closer to a city.

Portland Oregon,

2400 a month (designer)

Minimum wage is set by the Feds not state. 7.50

North Portland

College or HS? HS lincoln College Go Ducks, or maybe even reed.

Rent gets more expensive the closer you are to downtown and the space gets smaller. The further out you go, the opposite occurs.

down town is the best place to live,, cost of living is lower than the national average,
employment is easy to find and the guys are hot..
what more could a girl want,,
the only thing that is missing is there is not enough Scotsmen to go round everybody,, but that may change soon

good luck

Live in NW Portland if you like a hip young scene, live in downtown Pearl District if you have money and want the yuppie suburbanite turned upscale downtown scene, live in downtown SW if you want a more upscale living around the symphony, concert halls, library, Live in NE if you like the ghetto fabulous with a few cool liveable neighborhoods, live in SE if you like patchoule and smelly hippies, oh no offence if you are a smelly hippie.
