The Holy Ghost is known as the Holy Spirit. This is the spirit of God. When Jesus was returning to heaven he told the people that they should not be sad that he is going to because he will send a comforter and that is the Holy Ghost
SO the Holy Ghost is the spirit of God .

Because the holy ghost is what ghost or Jesus and God. That's why people say Holy Ghost. When Jesus died and came back he told his people that he would be up in heaven with his father so he left the holy ghost to take his place because he couldn't be their physically but spiritually. There is three of them the father God the son Jesus and the Holy ghost who is their spirit.
