Would you go for it? You could tell me why you would prefer it, or try it. If you have any reservations against it, I would like to know some reasons for that too.

I need it for my Social Science project.

Thanks Everyone!!

I would never be in a live-in relationship. The guy gets the best of both worlds in that situation. He has a wife without any legal committment. It is just wrong.

I lived in with my husband for 3 years and had a son before we got married. We have less problems than my brother and his wife, who dated exclusively for about 8 years and never lived together before they got married. She didn't know how much of a lazy sloppy person he was. I think it's a good idea because you can see the person 24-7, not just when they are at their best and on their best behavior. You can see their quirks that you thought were cute, might not be as cute. Also, who says you ever have to get married and can't just live with someone forever? Look at Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Have you ever seen a happier couple? How about Gene from Kiss?

In general I don't approve, but then in my day it was anathema. Those who "lived together" ( aka shacking up) were gossiped about and at times driven out of smaller town neighborhoods. Now of course no one judges it one way or the other, except "fundy" Christians. For a female on social security living (rather than marrying) a partner may be the only way to hold on to her monthly check. Although come to think of it I knew an old lady who married several old men, and when they died she was able to collect their checks. She actually attended wives funerals trolling for these guys..I kid you not!

I wouldn't live with a guy before we were married. Although if I didn't have the beliefs that I did, it does seem like a good way to see if you can handle being together.

Well, it shows people how they work together as a team and if they're suited for living together long-term in a more serious relationship. I think it's a good experience.

I wouldn't do it because of my religious beliefs but studies have also shown that couples who live together before marriage usually do not last.

I think that it's a good thing because you can get a perspective on how it's going to be to be married to him or her
