1st time in Thailand, looking for romantic hotel, guest house, apt., whatever for less than $1,000 for a whole month. Or if someone has suggestions on breaking up the trip and where to go? Thanks.

Depends on what your interest is. Look at www.asiarooms.com for information on the lodging available and the price too. You can book online and get preferential price. If you like beach resorts, island hopping in Phuket, Phang-nga and Krabi should be fine for sometime. If you want some more, head to Hua Hin and try that place too. Should be just as fine.

Nature parks, head to Kanchanaburi Sai Yok Park or Khao Yai Nature Reserve in Nakorn Ratchasima. For a lovely mountain resort, Chiangmai in the Mae Sa Valley should be a good choice. You can check out the accommodation from the above website and if you are not sure how to travel there, you can email the place and ask for assistance. You should have a good holiday.

Oh, do not forget the seafood while you are at the beach resorts. Guarantee that they will be real fresh.

the biggest question is what standard of accomadation you would like? my best sugestion would be do not prebook anything turn up where you would like to go it s very easy to find somewhere to stay for te first couple of nights have a look around then at your alternatives that suit your style, price will vary on location, style (hotel or bungalow) and of course standard? previously I have just turned up and rented a house for approx 6000 baht for 1 month however if you want to move around travel a little just find places as you go. Thailand is a very easy place to travel the people are friendly and you can find some amazing areas to visit ! have fun and take the time to look at all areas, you will no doubt find somewhere to stay and then a few days later find somewhere else you would like to go, take into account if you want to be close to a lively area or more secluded which ever I am sure you will love it!

The PP Princess on Koh Phi Phi is (was) lovely. Great bungalows, pool, bar and staff. My boyfriend and I stayed there for three weeks and were able to talk them down to US $30 per night. If you love to dive, the Princess Divers will also make a deal with you if you are also a hotel guest.
