Phone sex didn't teach me very many new words, so I think it is a terrible way of learning English!

Read your favorite books translated into English. To work on pronunciation, just talk to English speakers as much as possible. Perhaps get a part-time job where you have to speak English on a daily basis.

The best way to learn anything, though, is to teach it. Try teaching English to a sibling or a close friend.

Speak English and Mandarin equally. Speak English around your friends and/or out in public, and speak Mandarin around family, or vice versa.

Good luck!
