nope and I don't listen to the media either. What you choose to believe in is up to you and I'm happy with what I believe in.

If anyone understands his own faith and beliefs instead of spreading hate against others, this will be a much better place.
This is true that many do not want to learn anything about other religion yet the try to create many misconceptions about Islam and ended up finding out more about it.
Smart ones read and understand it and dumb ones keep repeating themselves until they find an answer they have been looking for.

Many of my opinions formed on Islam are from reading the Koran and college courses I have taken on religion, including Islam.
But it is true, most people are not interested in learning about Islam. Most people aren't interested in learning about any religion other than their own. So it's not just Islam if it makes you feel any better.

Not interested in Islam.
Why should I be?
When the last christian and the last Jew are killed by the last Muslim detonating a backpack full of explosives then the world will be better place.
The old testament says this.
And the Torah says that.
And the Koran says something else.
And they are all willing to take the world down with them based on ancient texts cobbled together by superstitious goat herders.
Burning bushes, staff turning into snake!
God gave US this land!
No ...god gave it to US!
No!! you are both wrong!!! It belongs to US.
It says so in books cobbled together by primitive tribal people.
We owe a great debt to religion.
If you consider Murder, mayhem, torture beneficial to humanity..
Christians, Jews. and Muslims been doing it for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years.
And they are all clutching their holy books cobbled together by
PRIMATIVE GOATHERDERS to justify their atrocities.
ZAPPA got it right way back in 1981
Frank Zappa
Dumb all over
(Zappa)
From the album You are what you is, 1981, (Bark 2-Barking PW2-37537)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whoever we are
Wherever we're from
We shoulda noticed by now
Our behavior is dumb
And if our chances
Expect to improve
It's gonna take a lot more
Than tryin' to remove
The other race
Or the other whatever
From the face
Of the planet altogether
They call it THE EARTH
Which is a dumb kinda name
But they named it right
'Cause we behave the same...
*We are dumb all over*
Dumb all over,
Yes we are
Dumb all over,
Near 'n far
Dumb all over,
Black 'n white
People, we is not wrapped tight
Nurds on the left
Nurds on the right
Religous fanatics
On the air every night
Sayin' the Bible
Tells the story
Makes the details
Sound real gory
'Bout what to do
If the geeks over there
Don't believe in the book
We got over here
You can't run a race
Without no feet
'N pretty soon
There won't be no street
For dummies to jog on
Or doggies to dog on
Religous fanatics
Can make it be all gone
(I mean it won't blow up
'N disappear
It'll just look ugly
For a thousand years...)
You can't run a country
By a book of religion
Not by a heap
Or a lump or a smidgeon
Of foolish rules
Of ancient date
Designed to make
You all feel great
While you fold, spindle
And mutilate
Those unbelievers
From a neighboring state
TO ARMS! TO ARMS!
Hooray! That's great
Two legs ain't bad
Unless there's a crate
They ship the parts
To mama in
For souvenirs: two ears *(Get Down!)*
Not his, not hers, *(but what the hey?)*
The Good Book says:
*("It gotta be that way!")*
But their book says:
*"REVENGE THE CRUSADES...
With whips 'n chains
'N hand grenades..."*
TWO ARMS? TWO ARMS?
Have another and another
Our God says:
*"There ain't no other!"*
Our God says
*"It's all okay!"*
Our God says
*"This is the way!"*
It says in the book:
*"Burn 'n destroy...*
*'N repent, 'n redeem*
*'N revenge, 'n deploy*
*'N rumble thee forth*
*To the land of the unbelieving scum on
the other side*
*'Cause they don't go for what's in the
book*
*'N that makes 'em BAD*
*So verily we must choppeth them up*
*And stompeth them down*
*Or rent a nice French bomb*
*To poof them out of existance
*While leaving their real estate just where
we need it*
*To use again*
*For temples in which to praise
OUR GOD*
*("Cause he can really take care of
business!")*
And when his humble TV servant
With humble white hair
And humble glasses
And a nice brown suit
And maybe a blond wife who takes
phone calls
Tells us our God says
It's okay to do this stuff
Then we gotta do it,
'Cause if we don't do it,
We ain't gwine up to *hebbin!*
(Depending on which book you're using
at the time...Can't use theirs... it don't work
...it's all lies...Gotta use mine...)
Ain't that right?
That's what they say
Every night...
Every day...
Hey, we can't really be dumb
If we're just following *God's Orders*
Hey, let's get serious...
God knows what he's doin'
He wrote this book here
An' the book says:
*He made us all to be just like Him,"
so...
If we're dumb...
Then God is dumb...
*(An' maybe even a little ugly on the side)*

some are willing to learn
in the lead up to the Iraq war I felt compelled to read an english translation of the Koran and did
I found it very different from what I was hearing about Islam from the media
I wasn't converted, but I did feel a connection to it, I started to see a lot of Islam in the way I was raised and in the people of my hometown (who were Catholic Christians of central European origin). They would deny this but I certainly could see it.
I saw nothing of the "70 virgins" or anything that condoned terrorism.

I personally could care less about Islam.
And people watch too much television. Television is actually a hypnotic/suggestive device. The mass media is owned by a few very powerful corporations who profit from things like wars. For example NBC is owned by GE, which is a major manufacturer of military jet engines. So what is in their best interest is transformed into everybody's best interest. They need media created boogie-men to achieve this, by keeping our attention diverted to stuff like that, so that they can pull other **** behind the scenes.

Why bother? It's obvious that militant, fundamentalist, violent Islam is the main driving force behind the religion today.
All religions' adherents have groups within with different interpretations. I don't doubt that many are non-violent, but...
I am sure they are just as biased, just as in favor of the destruction of the Jewish people, just as in favor of the destruction of the State of Israel. I have yet to meet a Muslim who was not.

I learn about people and not religions (though I have had several religious studies classes in school)...doesn't make a difference to me what you believe as long as you a) don't try fo force me to believe your way and I won't try to force you to believe mine; and b) you respect what I believe and I respect what you believe. If those two things come about between us than I don't care if you are Islamic, Jewish, Christian, etc. It's called respect and tolerance (though I'd prefer consensus or true unobstructed agreement...unfortunatly that's not going to happen). Study people and not religion. PEACE!

Actions speak louder than words. When all people see is bombings, beheadings, killings and general evil who cares about the words behind the religion if this is all we see it's believers doing.

It's not just Islam, it's everything, everyone seems to think they know so so much, just because they read it somewhere, or heard it somewhere. Ask yourself though, what do you REALLY know, discounting all things that you did not conclude yourself, for most of us, it is very little.
