Anyone else unable to eat MSG???

It make me sooo nauseus (sp?) I feel like I'm gonna die!!! any chinese place that I walk into, that's my first question. Just wondering who else out there is like me! I know it's in other foods too, but it especially bothers me when it's in chinese food.

Monosodium Glutemate (MSG) is actually very bad for you and can cause polio and cancer. I can eat it, but I choose not to because of the heath risks.

You may have an allergy to MSG. I also have an allergy. I react with shortness of breath and swelling in my throat. I avoid the stuff completely.

The other possible reaction you had was to bacteria on vegetables treated with MSG. Some restaurants use MSG to keep vegetables looking fresh. The MSG retards the growth of the bacteria that cause wilting and discoloration of the vegetables. Unfortunately, the MSG doesn't retard all harmful bacteria, so some nasty organisms can be on a vegetable that looks fresh, but isn't at all. If you ate some tainted vegetables, your body reacted with nausea.

It makes my face itchy. Just ask them not to use it. Also, don't order stuff that isn't made fresh. That includes stuff like dumplings , soup and rolls

it gives me very bad headaches and gastric stomach try to avoid it if you can .you know it is only their to make crap food taste nice .
