As angry as you are I will have to agree with you...I work at a hospital in San Antonio TX and almost all our patients have heart attacks or something related to the fact that they are obese. Children are even coming in with Chest pain...I myself am sick of seeing a fat kid in the waiting room drinking a Pepsi with a Chocolate bar in his mouth...Parents are really killing thier kids..they need to learn how to set limits...but if the parents are fat chances are the kids will be also.

This case appears to be a displine problem-- the mom does need to take control of this situation--An eight year old wondering through the grocery store eating out of the bags before they even leave the store- how horrible. Some cases do deal with a medical problem and those people need a different kind of support team including doctors, but as for this case it needs someone to talk to the parent-- maybe the parent needs help in training on how to tell her child no for society has made this a past time event as children claim child abuse at every turn of the hat.

Instead of ranting and raving, get out there and help promote healthy choices and activities for kids and parents.
In my experience, some parents really don't know what to do to encourage good health. Some think buying cookies and only eating 1 serving at a time is actually healthy and it would be if the kids weren't eating the cookies twice every day. (a parent of a child in my class room actually thought this.)

Hiding the food isn't a solution, teaching your children to eat healthy and get exercise is. You also shouldn't judge based on what you saw for a minute or two. Some people have physical problems that cause weight gains as well as addictions to food and poor eating habits. I personally think one of the biggest causes of weight gain in children these days is that they aren't getting outside and playing and running. Many are sitting inside on computers and video games.

You Are Right, Keep up the Good Work !
But I would advise you to be polite instead of being so angry and abusive. More people will listen to you that way :-)
Thanks God I am not fat and neither Do i have Fat Children :-) in that case I would have been afraid of meeting you on the street ! LOL !
I know you have the best at heart but do try to be a bit politer !
Take care and God Bless you !

Welcome to the 'Nintendo Generation'.
This is how the population is pretty much gonna look from here on out. No one DOES anything, anymore. No one goes for walks, rides a bicycle, does any kind of exercise. But they do have some awesome callouses on their thumbs.
It is kinda grotesque, ain't it? And the 'parents' would rather shove something in the kids yap, rather than deal with their contstant whining.
It's a vicious cycle.

Well, genetics does play a roll in a person's weight but that isn't the problem really. The problem is a psychological one. Someone who has never suffered from a weight problem may find it difficult to understand but an addiction to food or the wrong foods is something that must start within one's mind. Ridiculing or belittling someone with a weight problem is not the way to go about helping them. If you were truly interested in helping these people, you would speak more compassionately about them. If you aren't interested in truly helping these people, then why does it have to effect you in the first place. It sounds to me that their issues may be causing weight problems but your issue is that you allow someone else's "problem" to effect you in a very negative way. Hhhmmm...wonder which is the worst problem!

I actually think it is a form of child abuse and that obese children should be apprehended if the parents don't try and change. I think it is so cruel to allow a child to become obese. They get made fun of in school, they will have low self esteem, they will have health problems and they won't be able to have all the fun doing sports that children should. I still can't get over these idiot who let their children have tv's in their bedroom and play xbox all day. Sometimes I think you should have to have a license to have children.
I actually don't believe you should ever give a child pop or even white bread. Your killing them.

Well first of all my niece is 5 and weighs about 90 lbs. And yes she had thyroid problems. The doctors say she is fine she may grow out of it. Do you have kids? How would like for somebody to say bad things about your kids? No you would not. Yes there are kids out there that are over weight cause of the parents but who are you to judge. Yes there are kids out there that need help but you can't help them by calling them fat.

Lol I feel the exact same wa./ People aren't nessecarily born FAT for gosh sake their mothers let them get that way, stay that way, then get worse. I don't understand why they do it it's so f*cking stupid to me and simple to solve as long as you do it early in their lives. And it's not like the kids themselves know any better because they're not taught that it's wrong.
