It isn't, in fact, people are trying to outlaw teaching it, or making 'intelligent design' mandatory. Evolution just happens to be the best theory that we have right now. And nothing, to this point, is provable. That includes the bible.

Evolution as a process is a fact. Everything changes over time. The question is how the process works.
Evolution is only seen as an issue where religion is popular. Religious people fear that their doctrines about instantaneous creation will crumble--and when one doctrine crumbles, the rest soon follow.
Is it really reasonable to think that a God created this world a few thousand years ago, with fossils embedded in rocks well below the earth's surface? I don't think God would try to fool people like that.

No idea. Nothing in evolution has been proven. Evolution is a theory and not a proven fact. As a scientist, I cannot accept as fact even one percent of what this so-called theory puts forward. To accept this theory as the basis of life's origin is really deluding oneself. If evolution is real why did it stop with man?

My humble opinion is that this is a simple case of mankind becoming infactuated with our own limited cognition coupled with a bit of arrogance. The feeling of " yes! we HAVE figured it all out!" The theory of evolution unlike other beliefs about our origins is something conceived purely by humans, there is no divine intervention or extraterrestial help as in other theories. Simply, we developed into the dominant species we are all on our own...furthermore, we figured out how we did this on our own.

The only thing we are getting used to is the fact that complete morons will continue to refuse to understand the facts around the Science of Evolution.
We know you're out there, and we know you're ill-educated. We also understand that you'd far prefer a childish hand-waving argument like "god did it" instead of the truth.
Trust me, we know and we're dealing with people like yourself.
I myself blame the education system.

I agree with you on this. I have a serious problem with evolution. If we evolved from monkeys, then why do they still have monkeys? I just can't believe in evolution, so I guess I'm a creationist. Best of luck to you.........

Are you asking a question or not? Sounds like you're already convinced.
Irreducable complexity is a logical fallacy. Look it up.

I love all of these logical fallacies (flaws in reason) that you guys keep tossing about. Here, in that one question, we've got two of them:
* God of the Gaps (Divine fallacy)
* Argument From Incredulity ("I can't understand how this could have come to be; therefore, God did it.")
It absolutely amazes me that about 80% of the population of the USA does not know how to think.

Because liberals (most of which are atheists and most of whom are are very big into "tolerance") are very intolerant of people like christians. And the very people who say they don't worship anything, are bowing down to the "all knowing" gods of science, who have been proven to be wrong so many times.
