I know I don't really have teachers anymore, but how about a professor then? Should I just give him a watermelon or something instead?

If this is in fact a serious question, you can get your professor a gift certificate to a bookstore, or some place like Borders that sells books and music and other things. Most people can find something they like at a media store.

Why are you giving your professor a gift? It's not commonplace; they are paid professionals. Did he do something special for you, like give your private tutoring or other help?

Just go to a different store, your whole state can't be out of apples :) Or f*ck it and give your teacher some money instead :)

In Bangladesh they have these huge fruits called Jackfruit. They are much bigger than a watermelon, and they even grown on trees. The Bengali people love them. The fruit is ok, but they smell awful. Get him one of those.

hmm...the store is out of apples......

buy a nice Idaho potato,
go to Toys R Us and buy a "Mr Potato Head"

take all the goodies out, i.e. eyes, nose, mouth ect.

and put them on the potato.

Present it to your professor----tell him he now has his own

"Mr. Tater-head".

*tell him he can play with it or eat it...whatever makes him happy!

Don;t give the teacher anything. That's bribery and in violation of academic honesty.
