I had my sons circumcised for health reasons. I'm a nurse and have taken care of elderly men who had to have circumcisions done because of the foreskin getting tight around the penis and cutting off circulation. I also know that it's hard to keep yourself clean when your uncircumcised. You can get infections, smell horrible and also give infections to you partner. When you choose circumcision today in the states they will ask you if you are sure you want it done and tell you it is not medically necessary. The decision rests on the parents now. To me the is no question about whether to do it or not. My sons don't remember the pain but they sure would if it was done when they were older.

People circumcise mostly for health reasons but, there are a lot of good reasons for men to be circumcised! Health, hygiene and sex.
I had my sons circumcised after my youngest brother had tons of problems with his foreskin and needed to be circumcised! I really think the risk caused by foreskin is really underestimated. Given my sons' reactions circumcision seems pretty easy and quick by comparision.
Lots of love,
Sara

both are human rights violations and the "reward" from male circumcision do not exist. Male circumcision in the U. S. became began to maintain away from masturbation and to make sex a lot less relaxing for adult men. yet human beings in the U. S. prefer to be ethnocentric so they look on the Africans (with reference to woman circumcision) as Evil and backwards, even as our own immoral circumcision of male babies is defined away by nonsense.

no yodeladeho is not correct, the foreskin actually helps prevent urinary tract infections
they are circumcised because of the following 326 (and counting) circumstitions:
http://www.circumstitions.com/Stitions&refs.html
there are so many (the latest is AIDS, as unfounded as the rest, except for 1 in 10 000 men suffering from BXO) because foreskin removal in men is a memeplex:

Circumcision isn't just a religious thing. It's a health issue.
You can avoid SO many problems if that utterly useless bit of skin is removed early in life.

I am a helmet head.
I asked my mother some years ago why I was cut as a kid.
She told me it is for cleanliness reasons.
I hear about 'head cheese' and stuff like that which is much more prevalent in uncirc males.
That is what my mom told me.

Yes, the person above me is correct, it helps prevent infections. So the main reason most Americans are is for health reasons, and it has nothing to do with religion.
