Why is it after so many years, the psychiatric profession which has proven itself to be a complete fraud still is given the slightest ounce of credibility??? This disgusting group of sleazy opportunistic con artists have continued to abuse patients who are in their care with extremely dangerous medications, electro shock therapy (ECT), endless (not to mention mindless) PSYCHO BABBLE at rates of $150 per hour (which is really only 45 minutes) to begin with. The statistics have shown over the years that whenever a shrink screws up, patients are either MAIMED or KILLED and this is wrong. The shrinks themselves are pathetic cowards who always refuse to accept responsibility for their own wrongdoings. Yet, when the cases go to trial, the shrink usually ends up in jail. Why do shrinks continue to hand out dangerous drugs such as Prozac as if it was halloween candy. This poison actually causes patients to have suicidal thoughts. It is supposed to make you feel better. HELLO???

Sorry you had a bad experience but not all mental health pros are bad. I have a great therapist. Where did you get your stats?

As far as I know, no one is required to make use of their services. In cases where there is a court order, I would suggest railing against the courts, not the shrinks.

Anti-depressants do not cause suicidal thoughts. Depression does. Since anti-depressants can cause a lessening of the overwhelming lassitude of deep depression, a person may well find the energy to act on those thoughts.

Did you know that some people beg for electro-convulsive therapy? It can alleviate depression in people for whom nothing else has worked. Do you know of anyone who has been forced to undergo such treatment? I didn't think so.

I'm not a shrink, but I'd advise you to get back on *your* meds.

It is my understanding that specific medical company's offer them incentives to disperse certain brands of medications, and while I personally believe that the Psychiatric community is not only credible, but also very necessary to the promotion of mental health, I also believe that incentives to disperse medications should be illegal.

Medications should only be dispersed when absolutely necessary, and rewards for disbursement only encourage disbursement which I believe can cloud the good judgment of the professionals if even subconsciously

The problem then actually boils down to the fact that the drug company's lobby our government to pass legislation to there benefit, which is contrary to the benefit of humanity.
