Is there a Hell in Judaism, or what happens to the unrepentent after death? Is there eternal punishment, and what would the fate be for someone like Hitler?

Their is no Hell in Judaism. We all gain our share of the world to come. That share is usually thought of as our closeness to G-d. What kind of relationship we have with him is determined by our actions here on Earth. People like Hitler who have perpetuated so much evil it is believed just ceases to exist. No share in the world to come.
It is also believed that after death you go through a period where your soul is cleansed before meeting your maker. This period is variable based on your deeds but it is generally accepted that it shouldn't take longer then like a year.

IF you don't get Your SPIRIT Recreated, GOD can't let you into HEAVEN to Enjoy it. Too much of GOD's Presence up their. It's not that GOD dosen't LOVE you or is agonna Punish You with HELL(GOD didn't make HELL for PEOPLE, and People should'a never gone there, of their own Choice) YOU gotta get RECREATED and have GOD inside of your Spirit, befor you can GO on up to HEAVEN.
GOD DOSEN"T PUNISH PEOPLE WITH HELL, Adam messed-up his Spirit, and Passed it to Every-body else, you got to get that thing Born-Again, else, if you went to HEAVEN in a LOST State, and GOD didn't PROTECT you from HIS POWER (Presence) you would Burn-Up and Cease to Exist. GOD LOVE"s Every-body, and HATE's Evil and Wickedness. Evil and Wickedness take's People to HELL of their own Choice.
YOU must be Born-Again, to make HEAVEN your HOME and be Able to Enjoy it. PERIOD. Hope this helps. "JLU"

props to quintrill.
I might put it like this: What happens to a relationship if one person doesn't apologize for a wrong doing?
The answer, of course, is that the relationship is weakened, to their mutual detriment. Same idea.
