Judaism was the correct religion before Christianity. Those souls who lead good Jewish lives before Christ did obtain heaven once Jesus died and opened the gates to heaven. Before that, they were in limbo.
There is nothing against the Native Americans. Many Catholic missionaries were sent and killed savagely by the Native Americans. Catholics did the most to protect Native Americans and taught them the faith (those who would learn).
There is also such a thing called invincible ignorance in which a person has no ability to know of Our Lord and Savior. Such a person, if they live a naturally good life, can obtain heaven through this.

Christ came at the appointed time to the appointed people. He came to the Jews because the Jews are God's chosen people. God was made known to all people in the beginning. Before Christ came, there was an established way to enter heaven (Old Testament). This way was filled with rituals, sacrifices, and traditions. When the known world was small, all peoples had easy access to this information, and all through history, all people have had the ability to join the Jewish religion. The logic is basically that all people knew in the beginning that God existed and how to get to him. The information could easily be passed from one generation to another despite the distance from the land of the Jews, and so, no matter the distance or time, one could conceivably know about God. God cares about all people. He has created the world around us. All one needs to do is look to see God. We have a natural desire to find a god (just look at how many religions exist and have existed). God gave us a natural desire to find Him. We cannot say that anyone living on the American continents did not find God and worship him or enter into heaven. I personally do not believe that God left them helpless. He has the ability to send angels into a land to proclaim himself. He has the ability to show Himself to the heart of a person so that the person will believe in Him.
Hope this makes sense. God Bless!!

Jesus did appear to the Native American people. Read the Book of Mormon. The Book talks about the ancient people in the America's and the visit of Christ. The actual chapter and verse of this visit can be found in the Book of Third Nephi, Chapter 11.

"According to the Book of Mormon..." Yet, here is the fallacy- the Christian bible speaks nothing of people from "other worlds", nor is Mormon looked at as an esteemed religion in Christian "context", and Mormonism was "founded" later in 1930 (or, actually practiced in public), well after the bible.
This, and there are areas in the Book of Mormon that give some reason to believe there was more to this "sighting" then just the Americas. It gives route to speaking of Native Americans, Eskimos, and many from the Eastern world, such as places in Asia.
Anything before then is up to whom ever controls the heavens. I just pray they were treated as well as all good people should be.

Actually, how do you know he didnt give messages to him? Were u around?
They often have spoken of a "great spirit" - I've always believed in my heart that they were always talking about God.
It says in the Bible that those who have NEVER heard His word will pretty much be exempt to going to hell - as it would not have been their fault.
Also, those who could not understand - who had a child like being - will go to heaven.
I dont think you can honestly say that you are 100% sure that Natives did not have a chance to believe in Christ... since we were not there we cannot say for sure - but I do know that God works in mysterious ways and if He wanted them to know about Jesus, He would have defanitly let them know. Otherwise, if they were unable to hear the truth - they are not responsible.

My people worshipped the Spirits. It is no different than any other religious belief. It is what was passed down for many, many generations. The Christian belief came to the Native Americans relatively recently by the Europeans. That belief was taught to our people who adopted it.
Paradise - Excuse me, but we have been here for 12,000 years, quite a while before Jesus came along. Enough time to be "NATIVE" or "Indigenous" people.

According to the Mormons, He did come to them. Montezuma thought Cortez was the white man who preached to his ancestors.
Also there is a legend that a white buffalo appeared in North America at the time Christ was born.

I believe that Jesus did appear to the inhabitants of what we call 'The Americas' in the form of White Buffalo Maiden Calf...
The tribal religion here among the various tribes, then and now, is not at all unlike Christianity...

Jesus wasn't the Native Americans Messiah, He was sent for the Jews and when they rejected Him we got adopted into system.( Grafted in the native tree) And as far as the Jews they were foretold for many years that the Messiah was coming. And God a the sacrificial system in place for the Jews that came before Jesus.
I know it sounds bad, God does love us.
