THE COLOR WHITE REPRESENTS JESUS’ SINLESS LIFE
God made him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born
again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (Peter 1:18-23)
THE COLOR BLACK REPRESENTS BOTH OUR SINS AND THE HOPELESSNESS OF TRYING TO SAVE OURSELVES
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of
his mercy. (Titus 3:3-5)
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue [at all times] to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." (Galatians 3:10-11)
Know that a man is not justified by observing the law [the Ten Commandments], but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. (Galatians 2:16)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their
lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. (Romans 3:10-25)
They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless,
ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:29-32)
The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood-idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
(Revelation 9:20-21)
THE COLOR YELLOW REPRESENTS THE FACT THAT JESUS DIED FOR ALL MEN AND IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. (Acts 20:21)
God our Savior…wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:3-6)
Since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone-an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man
he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead. When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject. (Acts 17:29-32)
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
THE COLOR GREEN REPRESENTS JESUS’ RESURRECTION AND OUR FUTURE RESURRECTION
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep [died] in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ indeed has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1Corinthians 15:17-22)
THE COLOR BLUE REPRESENTS ETERNAL LIFE AS A FREE GIFT FROM ABOVE
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. (Revelation 22:17)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
THE COLOR PURPLE REPRESENTS OUR GRATEFULNESS FOR HAVING BEEN THOROUGHLY SAVED FROM ETERNAL DESTRUCTION
He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who
have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. (2 Thessalonians 1:8-10)
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:28)
THE COLOR PINK REPRESENTS JESUS BECOMING FLESH
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made….The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. (John 1:1-3, 14)
THE COLOR RED REPRESENTS THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD OF OUR LORD’S ONCE FOR ALL, ONLY ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE FOR SIN
Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (Hebrews 9:22)
We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Day after day every [Old Testament] priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for
sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
"This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the
blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess. (Hebrews 10:10-23)
For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he [God] bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not
spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. (Acts 20:27-30)
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)
THE COLOR WHITE REPRESENTS THE FACT THAT ALL OF A BELIEVER’S SINS ARE WASHED AWAY
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. (Isaiah 1:18)
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins. (Colossians 2:13)
THE HEART STANDS FOR GOD’S LOVE FOR US AND CHRISTIANS’ LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. (1 John 3:14)
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)
