I wouldn't, for the same reason I don't want any Peeping Toms in my neighborhood.

Without a god or sometime there is no basis for morality. There is no sense eternity in anything. There is no way to estabilsh truth. Without a god of somesort, the life we live is an incidental spark, on a forgettable chunck of dirt, spinning slowly around an average sized star, in an average sized universe, in a limitless (maybe) universe. Without god we are nothing more than biological machines, churning away at a decaying planet await oblivion.

Why, I would ask, would you NOT want there to be a god?

Very good question. If you were damned to eternal hell, my guess is you wouldn't want a God. If you got into Heaven, though, God will let the good times roll!

Most people want to believe there's a God so they have comfort when they or loved ones die.

Thats about it.

I believe in a higher power, and that it's also in all of us. I believe in my heart, which is also a part of god. Tis all interconnected, in my book. :)

I'm not sure I would. But since there is a G-d, there's not much I can do about it except play by His rules.
