I am looking into moving down south. Charlotte, North Carolina looks great. Actually, any place, I believe, in North Carolina is nice. What are your thoughts?

North Carolina is nice. The Charlotte area has a lot to offer. I'd live outside of town somewhere though.

I think it really depends on where you currently reside. What kind of weather are you looking for? North Carolina is great, although I prefer Ashville over Charlotte. Ashville is beautiful and you get a perfect view of the mountains. If you don't mind the heat San Antonio in Texas is also a fun environment with lots of extracirricular activities.

I'm a relocated Yankee (from NY) now living in Raleigh, NC. They are still fighting the Civil War down here. I get "Yankee Go Home" comments at my job at least twice a day. Southern Hospitality is a myth. And you can say all you want about NYers being rude, Southerners are two-faced, back-stabbing people. In Ny if someone says they hate you and want you dead, it means they hate you and want you dead. In the South, if they say "Have a Blessed Day", it means they hate you and want you dead.
This looked like a good place to move to before I came here. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now.

Knoxville, TN is great. It's got a mix of small town charm in some parts and a little taste of city mixed in there. The people are super nice for the most part. (You always have your a**holes anyplace you go). It is also very close to some beautiful mountains and fresh water.

north carolina is beautiful and its people are nice. i like the piedmont area best, country and all that but charlotte is very nice too....really anywhere in nc is great.

Kanapolis is nice! It is a racing town though! That is where the Earnhardts are from! (just a fun fact) But I have been there before! Very beautiful!
