Either they haven't been around many,and just don't KNOW, or are they just cold people? A cat is more than just a pet, they are entertaining, funny, have personalities, and provide loving companionship. They are like miniature tigers and lions. How cool is THAT? How can you hate something so pretty that lets you cuddle it and loves you back? HOW???

I don't hate them I don't have any use for them. If you like or dislike something is just an opinion that doesn't make you a cold person. That's just their opinion, just like it is your opinion to like them

If they had an bad experience with a particular cat when they were younger they could hate an entire species, I don't like spiders and nothing is going to change my mind because of the experiences I have had. I know its wrong to hate all spiders but still I have been conditioned to dislike them from a young age. So what you learn as a child follows you around and is difficult to change.

Well someone can prefer to not be around acts due to an allergy, or possible bad experience with them. To just "hate" cats for no reason is, to me, the sign of a personality where something is horribly, horribly wrong.

You've got me. I love cats! I have 23! I do cat rescue. Each cat has it's own distinct personality and some are just hilarious! My family just rolls their eyes when i bring another kitty home. My cats love me and i love them. they meet me at the door when i come home and they are genuinly happy to see me and follow me everywhere, even the bathroom. i have one female calico/siamese that plays fetch with me and she taught herself to pee in the toilet(I just wish she would learn to flush) Cats are amazing creatures and the Ancient Egyptians even had a Cat headed goddess named Bastet. The Ancient Egyptians revered the cat. They are like miniature tigers and lions and just looking at their features and markings amazes me. I have cats they sleep on my pillow with their little chins resting on my head and cats that like to sleep on their kitty condo. i have kittens and young cats that like to nurse on the side on my thumb or on whatever t'shirt i happen to be wearing. I consider this a huge compliment as it means they feel comfortable and safe enough we me to do this. That these wonderful little creatures can be hated by anyone is mind boggling. That one person who answere that they have no use for cats, what does that mean? no use for them? what are they an appliance? anyway how someone could have no use for an animal that will give you unconditional love and affection and always be happy to see you when the world outside might be cruel is not being honest with themselves. everyone can use as much love as we can get. I look foreward to seeing all my kitties when i get home all day at work. My heart melts when i see any animal and i know first hand what the other people who have no use for them are missing.

there are people who hate cats...everybody has what they like and what they don't like. Like i hate snakes. I cant stand them...and some people have them as pets. My dad hates cats. I live on his property and i have three cats...i have to make sure that they stay inside...cause if they were outside my dad probably would have shot them. Not everybody see them like we do! My midnight hes such a sweetheart every time I'm down hes always there next to me. He knows when somethings wrong. One time i had an infection and i was laying down on my bed and he knew i was in pain and he got on the bed and laid there putting his paw on my hand...you like its gonna be ok mommy. I love my cats. I have two cats, Wilbur Norton and King Kona. Their full time job is napping and they teach this type A turtle girl to relax and nap more.
I bought King Kona from a breeder, something I'll never do again, long story, and got Wilbur Norton from the "pound" where he has been unjustly imprisoned. I sprang him from the pokey.

I don't get how some people hate cats. Cats are wonderful and loving creatures that don't deserve to be "hated". I love cats soooo much and i am just as confused as you are. what is it that makes people hate cats so much? People who do hate cats are usually cold and mean people (not always) and cat lovers seem to be more calm and sympathetic. I think that all cat haters should get a cat and see if they start to love them just as much as we do.

I know for my father his hatred stemmed from religious beliefs that cats were actually demons in disguise as for myself I don't hold these resentments I truly love cats I own four.

I love mine, but my fiancee hates him. I think it is bc he can and will get into everything. He loves to jump up on the window sill and when he does he ends up putting holes and the blinds and sometimes tears the curtians down. I love him regardless my finacee hates him.

Usually those people are attributing human qualities like "sneakiness" and "untrustworthy" to cats unfairly. Some people are also really afraid of their claws or eyes.
