I remember my high school band director best. He is a great person and a fantastic musician. I adopted him as my surrogate father as I did not have one. I only hope that he did not think I was some proto-stalker or something! I spent a lot of time at the school as my mom was both teacher and coach. He was one of only two positive father-figures in my life then, the other being my grandfather who died before my senior year after a long illness.
The worst teacher I had was my geometry teacher. A sorry sort if there ever was one. Not only was she thoroughly boring, I never got even an inkling that she gave a s**t for any of her students. I had a 50 or something for the year. Went to summer school for that class. One of the local pastors taught us (I think 18ish out of 22ish students were from HER!) (Hey, it's been near 20 years) and I got a 94. She wasn't teaching the next year. Don't know why and don't care.
You remember people, good and bad. I had other teachers that stick out but those two were tops on both ends of that spectrum.

You'll either remember the very good ones or the really bad ones, there's nothing wrong with that or abnormal about it. It's just one extreme or the the other really. Do you rember dreams the clearest or nightmares? It's just how our memory works I guess.
As for teachers I remember the clearest practically all my English teachers over the years, a few junior school teachers and a lecturer or two. Mainly this is because they were completely mad or just because they gave me good advice, which I remember till this day.

I had a male math teacher in 7th grade who knew how to motivate the slackers and make it fun. He would call the guys from the back row up to the chalkboard and then put them on the spot but in a fun way. I loved math after that. I don't remember too many bad teachers, just lots of bad students who drove them crazy.
Literally.

I remember one teacher as a GOOD teacher, Mr Lucas. I had a lot of respect for him. He was smart, cool, clever, funny & strict.
He was my teacher from age around 8-11. He advised my parents to let me do Languages or Drama. My mum wanted me to go to Drama, but I was more inquisitive than that and when I went on to secondary school, I took to Spanish. I can now communicate quite easily and almost fluently in Spanish. My spelling and grammer is not the best, but I can do it. Thanks to that teacher.
About 15 years later, I was working in a JobCentre (unemployment office) and I looked up to see to a customer and it was him ! Mr Lucas!!! Of course I was slightly embarrassed and so was he I imagine, to be there, but.. I told him. "you were the best teacher I ever had.. I speak Spanish now, because you told me to do that.. Thanks" and he was really pleased. I made his day I think. I hope so.

I honestly can not narrow it down to just 1 teacher. I was lucky and had my share of great teachers and yes, my share of bad ones too. I guess the ultimate great teacher would be my 9th grade physcial science teacher, he also became my algebra 2, calculus and Trig and EA teacher and my drivers ed, lol. He was just a great teacher who cared. He also helped me to gain scholarships for college. My least favorite, now that is a toughy too. I guess my kindergarten teacher because she broke a paddle ball paddle on my hiney.

My 5th grade teacher was awesome. I cried when that year was over. I also remember my 6th grade teacher that might as well have been Satan. I think you remember the good AND the bad.

Actually they say that the thing you remember about a teacher is the way they make you feel about yourself. good or bad

i remember my English teachers most b/c they encouraged me to be creative and to imagine in a world where there are so many rules, regulations, to-do lists and so little "free" time.
