first, go on a fast for about 1-3 days. this will flush toxins from your body. then, i'd simply switch to eating only ORGANIC foods, raw vegetables and cutting out meat. Don't start eating more or bulking up on protein, it doesn't have any affect. drink distilled water also, not faucet water for the love of god.

exercise, believe it or not. you want to put on muscle, not fat.

There's no such thing as under weight unless you are tired and low energy all the time, or bony.

Shoot for an IDEAL weight, not just a heavier weight.

If you want to gain muscle and strength, that is a notable effort.

Protein shakes, eating 5-6 small to medium sized meals throughout the day, eating healthy, those are the key to gaining weight or so I am told!!

Try protein shakes- or drink slim-fast with meals (slim fast only helps you lose weight if that's all you eat/drink).

Lots of rice will expand and stretch your stomach so you can eat more doughnuts, burgers fries, and pizza. If you keep trying, then pretty soon you'll be a real fatty! LOL, j/k. Stop when you reach your healthy weight. Keep exercising though so it goes to muscle mass- muscle weighs more than fat, so you'll pack on pounds and look healthy too. :)

There is such thing as underweight...I don't really understand why someone said there wasn't. It is uncommon in western society, but it happens. Being severely underweight is a health risk and something that should be assessed by a doctor to make sure there isn't a digestive problem (e.g. food allergy) or hormone problem (e.g. thyroid disease). Your doctor can also refer you to a nutritionist to assist you in coming up with a diet to help you gain healthy weight.

Eat extra carbs: 'taters, rice, wholewheat bread, or junk food: donuts, sugar, 'tater chips, Cheetos, Frito's, cakes, pies, Eat a little extra at every meal. Do like Sumo Wrestlers. Eat no breakfast, get hungry, eat one huge high carb meal in the afternoon. Fat may help also.

Exercise if you want muscle instead of fat.
