Now this is a quality question, well written, and has a good message. If you don't have anything nice to say, be quite. "The only dumb question is the one that wasn't asked."

You hit the nail right on the head...I can even count how many times I have asked a question and someone responds in a rude manner. I think Yahoo Answers should have a way for the asker to respond to the answers that they recieve but then again that would just lead to back and forth bickering.....Look at it this way, its the internet and people will say and do anything because they know that they will proabably never see the other person in real life. People who respond this way are proabbly kids in the 13-16 range who have down syndrome and are reduced to a wheel chair.....

Here's some food for thought:
Ask a Stupid Question Day is a holiday that is sometimes celebrated in the United States, usually by school students and teachers. Although Ask a Stupid Question Day takes place on September 28, it is usually observed on the last school day of September.
The origins of this day are hard to trace, though it is believed the holiday was started in the 1980s by school teachers to encourage their students speak up and ask questions that the students would not have normally asked as they felt they were stupid questions. A view held by many teachers is that "the only stupid question is a question not asked", so this holiday was created basically as a teaching aid, and grew from there.
Aside from the obvious traditions in which student are encouraged to ask questions they normally would not have asked, several Greeting Card companies have created lines of humourous greeting cards to send to go along with this holiday.

Because maybe I've had a crappy day and my only release is a snide answer, anonymously, to a question on a website.
Just filter though the bad ones, there's usually good answers out there, too.

Sounds like someone really upset you. I'm sorry that they hurt your feelings. Don't let the few jerks out there discourage you. There are more of us that are willing to help out and be serious and be a friend! Keep asking whatever you feel you need. We are there for you!

there's not much sadder than the type of person who is rude or tries to pick fights on the internet.
It is funny to see how childish some people can be though.

Not me. Unless the person is rude or violent or prejudice in their question.

It's a way of insulting them and making them explain themselves at the same time.
