You can see the Northern Lights in all the Provinces and Territories. Generally the farther north you go the more brilliant they get. The Yukon, Northwest territories or Nunavut would be great places to go to see the Aurora Borealis.
You can not see the lights during the day and they do not appear every night either.

I lived in Dease Lake, BC, for about ten years and saw the northern lights every winter. They are usually only in the wintertime but once they appeared in the summer too. Just take the name literally: NORTHERN lights, so go NORTH. I only saw them in the middle of the night. Northern LIGHTS, rhymes with fortherm NIGHTS. Therm, get it? Cold?

I live in Ontario and we get them here too. You can see them anywhere in the country I believe. And also, Australia gets them too. :)
If you have never seen them.. my god.. set out too. It has to be the most beauitful thing in the world! You will never see anything like it.
The first time I saw them I was like "What the heck is that!!" and was totally in awe. It's mouthdropping amazing.
I doubt you can see them in the day. Anytime I saw them it was at night.
I just read something that says you mainly see them in the Northern provinces but I'm in southern Ontario so obviously thats not true. The states see them too. The best time to see them is December to March. There is no set or predicted date. You just have to watch for them. It usually stays a few days too.
Seriously if you have never seen it, definitly set out too. You will never seen anything more amazing!
Check out the 3 pictures on this site...http://climate.gi.alaska.edu/Curtis/aurora/aurora.html

We used to see them some times in Northern BC. I lived in Prince George but in all those years I only saw them once and they were so amazing I will never forget it. I don't think it is something you can really predict though.
