Generally, if hormones and depression are responsible for not feeling love toward someone, then the feelings come and go. However, if you don't feel love for someone at all, then perhaps it's time to reevaluate the relationship.
Is there any chance you just don't want to hurt your boyfriend's feelings? If so, then he'll be hurt even more if you continue to wait before you address the topic. In the meantime, you both could be on your way to healing and finding something or someone else. Have you been with him for so long that it is more of a habit than a relationship? Sometimes, it's good to break habits.
If you just want to love someone, look to your friends and family, or get a kitty. In the meantime, you are spending your energy on someone you don't love, instead of looking for the person you will love and who will love you back. Good luck.

If you get heartbroken thinking about not loving him, then I would say that is a pretty good indication that you do love him. And yes, hormones and depression make you do and think some pretty crazy things.
You should talk to your doctor about this. Have them do some bloodwork to find out if your hormones are whacko or if your just depressed. Depression is a chemical imbalance in you brain and there are lots and lots of medicines available to help with this. I myself am on Lexapro and it has improved my life dramatically. Don't be ashamed or embarrased to talk about this with your Dr. There are approximately 10 million people on anit-depressants in this country. It's one of the most common complaints from patients.

Usually if it's because of hormones & depression, the thoughts will come and go. Or you may be trying to sabotage your relationship without thinking about it. Most days I love my guy, but sometimes I start to doubt it cause I've never had a good relationship. Try spending quality time with him and find someone you can talk to about what specifically is wrong. Good luck.

depression is a big deal... and is really hard to understand because it's a psychological thing, not something u can "diagnose" very easily. what are the reasons why you feel you don't love him? is it just You, you're not happy with him for "no reasons", not attracted to him, bored? or is it Him.. does he do things that make you unhappy? is he mean, or careless? yet even if he was the nicest guy in the world, if he doesn't "complete" you or fulfill all your needs physically, emotionally, etc, he may not be the right one. you need to find out if he indeed is one you can spend the rest of your life with.. if not, perhaps you would be better off working on yourself and your own depression, and finding someone who will help you get OUT of that, vs him either not supporting you or him just unable to help you. hopefully he is trying to help you thru the depression you are going through... good luck.

This is happening to me, too. I've been with him for almost 5 years and I've recently starting feeling that the love is gone. But also, I have thoughts that aren't really me. I love to coach volleyball and soemtimes I think that I don't want to anymore. I'm hoping that it is a hormone thang and I can get my doctor to advise something. I've made the appointment already. Sometimes it feels good to know that someone else is going thru the same thing...sorry I have no answer for ya.

Depends on your definition of love. Do you mean that the "hots" have gone out of your relationship? Are you in a relationship that has become dull and boring? If that is the case, you might want to get counciling. Deciding to love someone means that you are going to stick with them through good times and bad, wether or not you feel attracted to them or not. I certainly don't feel attracted to my hubby after we have a fight, but I stick with him because I made a promise to him when I married him. Try to act loving to your man. Sooner or later, the feelings will follow.

Depression can cause you to have all kinds of thoughts and feelings. Talk to your doctor. The best thing to do is treat the depression. If the feelings don't go away, then perhaps you are in the wrong relationship.

Hormones can definitely effect your feelings. I would definitely seek some type of hormone therapy.....depending on your age and circumstances the pill may be a viable option to level you out. Good luck!
