There many people because for years people had many children. This has changed with the institution of the One Child Policy.

The cities are overcrowded. China has 130+ cities with 1,000,000+ people. The US has 30+ cities with 1,000,000+ residents. There are several cities with a population in excess of 10,000,000.

They need tremendous amounts of resources to sustain a population of 1.3+billion people. They seek allies everywhere to facilitate the quest for food and energy.

There are strict laws that require visas into many countries. They do not enjoy the freedoms of western nations.

My concerns about China are the terrible pollution there and the corruption of many officials. The quest for money and a desire to grow the economy has poisoned the water, air and to a large extent the soil; all things needed to grow the food so desperately needed to feed China's many citizens. The rich get very rich while many are dirt poor. The quality of life varies greatly from the cities to the countryside. Many Chinese are unable to find work. Corruption is rampant in China. Rich businessmen are very powerful.

I think your fears of Chinese people flooding the world are largely groundless. It's not easy to leave China and entering other countries is also difficult. I encourage you to read some of the news items from the link I posted below. I've become much more appreciative of the freedoms that many of my fellow Americans apparently take for granted.

Here are my responses to your questions:

1) They do have quite a population but it was only in the 70s or 80s that they passed the one child policy so it is only now that they are getting in control of their population growth. Their population was already big then so it cannot be expected that it can be controlled overnight.

2) It is not overcrowded here. Not because there are considerable number of cities that has more than 10 million inhabitants, you can already say it is overcrowded. Their land is quite big. US is only 33,000 square kilometers larger than China so it is BIG. Their cities here are REAL HUGE, almost as big as regular provinces in the world. I already lived in Shenzhen, China for more than 2 years already and I still have to see the WHOLE of it and it is JUST a city. The outskirts are even bigger.

3) They are not into taking more lands. They only wanted Taiwan because they believe that there should only be one China.

4) They cannot just emigrate. Their politics are so bureaucratic that it takes a lot of paperworks just to allow someone to visit any other country as a tourist. How much more if they are emigrating?

china is not a dangerous country..at least not in the big major cities. i would say it is far worse in america. we have lots of bad people here and people here that do not have any responsibilties for their actions.
everyday people get mowed down in car accidents and the perpertrators take off. they call it a 'hit and run', well..it happens daily in every city in america. people are bad here.
i live in a city where crime has gotten to be just as bad or worse than in places like NYC and East LA.
no kidding, even good expensive places are turning into ghetto like atmosphere.

go to china and enjoy it.
the people there are not half as bad as they are here.

China tends to be isolationist, so I doubt that they would ever be imperialistic. Not too sure about your other questions.
