Right now I am looking at a light green but not sure if it works. Also wondering what color of curtains.

Boy, reds come in lots of varieties, and, depending upon the shade, have lots of complementary colors.

Overall, you might try www.behr.com. They have a great color selection tool. You could look for a paint color that resembles your comforter color, and then pick a wall color based on their coordinating or complementary colors.

But, as a quick guide:

Bright, corvette red: Bright sunshine yellow
Deep, brick red: Subdued Gold, or Cactus Green
Burgundy: Peach or light yellow, grey

Reds work well with complementary colors--colors opposite on the color wheel. Red's complement is green, but you can also use the undertones in the red to pick a complement (for instance, burgundy may have blue undertones, making orange or peach, a good complement).

Good luck!

There is nothing like a red comforter in a plush white room, especially if the floor is also white. Silver grey curtains would look classy.

I today concept blue yet that is too patriotic (except it truly is what you're going for). i imagine perchance a darker or lighter pink than the walls. no longer pink in spite of the indisputable fact that...that'll conflict. or you should get a depressing brown (with a progression) to bypass with the oak. No black by using the indisputable fact that doesn't look good with oak.

depends on the "mood" you want to set in your room
red and white is friendly and inviting
red and yellow (not a bright sun yellow...more of a golden yellow) is bright and cheerful
red and black is bold and sophisticated
you can use pretty much any color you want, you just have to pay attention to hue and value....even blue, green, or orange looks great with red....if the shade of the color is right

Light to Kermit the Frog greens are pretty neat. Also deep to true purples...very dramatic. (maybe purple walls with green curtains?)

it depends on what color red you got going on.

if it's a bright red, i'd go for a light grey to subdue it a bit. curtains? black.

if it's a deep maroon red, i'd go for a darker navy blue. curtains? mmmm...i'm thinking a yellowish color.

if it's like a brick red, i'd go for an off-white. curtains...light green.

hope my opinions help!

Greens would be good- especially the light green. Or you can take a look at eggshell-whites, or black trim in some places.

Perhaps a olive green color would be nice.
