im aware i asked this question yesterday but with answers i got i gotta ask again, the question was why if the bible in Psalms and revelations show us how time with God is like a celebration where people spin leap run dance shout why are so many churches quiet as a mouse and more dull than a root canal, i mean we were on our way to hell now heaven that is the most exciting news of all, but my new question is whats up with these dead religious people saying its about a relationship not supposed to be fun, or i think dancing is irreverent in church what is this crap the bible is the final authority not church tradition or denominational creed and pride! if the book says it and it does (psalm 149, 150 etc and revelation 5 etc) that our worship and praise should be vibrant relevant exciting and jubilant who are we to be dead and dry just to be "comfortable" and "respectful" to disobey the word is whats really out of order! lets be real and excited about God

You are right on point!! I don't understand why some Christians say that either, it's right there in the Bible. Isn't it funny how the same people who say it's wrong will cheer, shout, and leap for their favorite sports team, but won't even give God that kind of praise.

People are people.
Never did figure out why it takes so many words to ask a simple question!

I think that part of this is just human nature. There are folks who really aren't excitable. The prefer a more staid environment to worship. They feel it's respectful. On the other hand there are folks who would swing from the ceiling fans, and jumping for joy.

You mention the Psalms, and you're right, there are passages that call for exuberant worship. Indeed, there are others that call for the opposite. I think that a balance is what is best. Allowing the Spirit to move people.

Paul teaches us this in I Corinthians 14:40, "But everything must be done in a proper and orderly way."

Further, there are churches that have dead worship, because they ARE dead. "To the messenger of the church in Sardis, write: 'The one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says this: 'I know your works. You are known for being alive, but you are dead." (Revelation 3:1)

We cannot know their hearts on this. Only Jesus has been granted the authority to judge. In the meantime, I would recommend that you find, and participate in, a church that teaches the Bible, and not some human doctrine, and meets your comfort level in worship. Let the other churches that don't fit you well, worship as they see fit.

Over all I agree with you.

Of course there are times (whole services) when it could be proper to be sober (like a prayer meeting). It is a danger if everybody comes just to celebrate the love of God, but they do not take time to take care of sins in their own lives.

Some people are very sober. My room mate is baptized in the Spirit, but he rarely gets excited (at least outwardly) but tends to stay in a mood of worship.

I'm a hardcore biker for Christ. I ride for Jesus, I live for Jesus, I have fun for Jesus. No fun No life! If you think that being something different that what you are for Jesus, that is nothing short of living a lie. See I believe that God see us 24/7 so I am not going to be different for 2 hours on Sunday morning and then be something else the rest of the week.

I am a long haired, leather wearing, Motorcycle riding Believer. Just the way God made me. That is who I am and I live my faith with it. When you can stand with outlaw bikers and believe in Christ that takes guts, when they accept you for living what you believe that's cool.

I make no excuses for what I am and if others don't like, their problem not mine.

My church is very open and vocal in worship and dancing and freedom of expression of worship are excepted easily.....I have been to the churches where it is very solemn in worship times and I don't wish to return.....I believe that is why many people don't give church a try because that very image of the church you described.....I don't blame them....God is awesome and to truly be free to worship Him is so wonderful

I think all people show and celebrate their love for God in many ways, because we are all different, and God knows and accepts all forms of worship to Him.

If you are part of the world of false religion you should be sad and see sadness for sure.

There will come a day when many will be truly happy and in celebration.

You are a Spirit, you have a Soul and you live in a Body.

When you get SAVED, only your Spirit get's Recreated.
PART TWO of SALVATION (work out your Own Salvation), come's with the IN-FILLING of the HOLY SPIRIT.
That's is when you are EMPOWERED by the HOLY SPIRIT to do alot more's thing's, and get ALOT of REWARD's when you get Home to HEAVEN.
The IN-FILLING of the HOLY SPIRIT come's into your SOUL, not your Spirit(HOLY SPIRIT is already in your Spirit, when you got Born-Again.)
HE need's your Permission to come into your SOUL, then, after you are FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, you need to Learn how to Operate in it.
THE Old Testament Children of GOD could not get Born-Again till JESUS Died on the CROSS. BUT, they could get FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT in their SOUL's,and that's how they did thing's, wrote the BIBLE under the Inspiration of GOD, and that's how People got SAVED(even though they couldn't get their Spirit's Recreated at that time, they didn't end up in HELL) by Opening up the Door of their SOUL's to GOD ALMIGHTY---all they had to do was start Wondering where all of this came from(open the Door to their Soul's, second mind) and then Listen and Follow the Leading and Guiding of the HOLY SPIRIT(WHO give's ALL MEN (male, female) WISDOM, if they will OPEN the DOOR and try to LISTEN to HIM (HOLY SPIRIT) with their SOUL's. The GREAT SPIRIT (Holy Spirit) would Lead and Guide those People into ALL TRUTH, even though they couldn't get their Spirit's Recreated at that time.
Later, they would get Born-Again, after JESUS completed HIS Mission on the EARTH.

AFTER you get FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, thing's, including going to "church,a building", can get Pretty Exciting, but you have to Maintain this Filling, cause it can go down through time(day after day) and you have to be Filled over and over.
Like Gas in the Tank of your Car, you use it up day after day.
p.s. The Old Testament People who were SAVED, were kept in Paradise, (center of the EARTH at that time, right beside of HELL) till JESUS went down there and Preached the WORD of GOD concerning getting Born-Again, then they Accepted it and their Spirit's were RECREATED and THEN they could go on up to Planet HEAVEN.. Hope this helps.. "JLU"
