Leviathan, in the Bible, one of the names of the primeval dragon subdued by Yahweh at the outset of creation: "You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals" (Psalm 74:14; see also Isaiah 27:1; Job 3:8; Amos 9:3). Biblical writers also refer to the dragon as Rahab (Job 9:13; Psalm 89:10) or simply as the Abyss (Habakkuk 3:10).

I believe that it could possibily be recognizing dinosaurs.

In the Bible, in Job 40:15-24, God describes to Job (who lived after the Flood) a great beast with which Job was familiar. This great animal, called ‘behemoth,’ is described as ‘the chief of the ways of God,’ perhaps the biggest land animal God had created. Impressively, he moved his tail like a cedar tree! Although some Bible commentaries say this may have been an elephant or hippopotamus, the description actually fits that of a dinosaur like Brachiosaurus. Elephants and hippos certainly do not have tails like cedar trees!

Actually, very few animals are singled out in the Bible for such a detailed description. Contrary to what many may think, what we know now as dinosaurs get more mention in the Scriptures than most animals! So dinosaurs—all the different kinds—must have lived alongside of people after the Flood.

There is not a definitive yes or no to this, but it seems as though the Bible does mention dinosaurs. In Job 40:15-24, there is a description of a fearsome creature.

Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass like an ox. 16 Behold now, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. 17 He bends his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together. 18 His bones are tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron. 19 He is the first of the ways of God. Let his maker bring near his sword. 20 Surely the mountains bring him food and all the beasts of the field play there. 21 Under the lotus plants he lies down, in the covert of the reeds and the marsh. 22 The lotus plants cover him with shade. The willows of the brook surround him. 23 If a river rages, he is not alarmed. He is confident, though the Jordan rushes to his mouth. 24 Can anyone capture him when he is on watch, with barbs can anyone pierce his nose?

Some have said that this might be a hippopotamus or even an elephant. But, it speaks of the power and the muscles of his belly (v. 16) and that his tail is like a cedar tree, which is huge (v. 17). This would not support a hippopotamus or elephant explanation. A crocodile has also been considered, but it doesn't eat grass (v. 15). So, no one knows for sure what it is; but whatever it is, it's formidable. Could it be a dinosaur?

So, are there dinosaurs in the Bible? The matter is far from settled. It depends on how you interpret the available evidences and how you view the world around you. If the Bible is interpreted literally, a young earth interpretation will result, and the idea that dinosaurs and man coexisted can be accepted. If dinosaurs and human beings coexisted, what happened to the dinosaurs? While the Bible does not discuss the issue, dinosaurs likely died out sometime after the flood due to a combination of dramatic environmental shifts and the fact that they were relentlessly hunted to extinction by man.

dinos were real- their existence cannot be refuted. I think they were a combination of pre diluvian genetics. I think man before th flood was messing with genetics and created these beasts that we find fiossils for. They wer enot an origanl creation of god so they were not spared in the flood which is how we have the fossil record today. The Bible does mention a sea monster of sorts calling it Leviathon, althoguh no onoe knows what JOb is referign too- it could have jsut been a whale. Check out the book of JOb- sorry can't remember the chapter and verse.

Dinosaurs are not actualy mentioned by name, but there are references to them.

"Job 40:15 Behold2009 now4994 behemoth,930 which834 I made6213 with5973 thee; he eateth398 grass2682 as an ox.124

behemoth: בהמות [Strong’s H930], Perhaps an extinct dinosaur, maybe a Diplodocus or Brachiosaurus, the exact meaning is unknown. Some translate as elephant or hippopotamus but from the description in Job_40:15-24, this is patently absurd."

Gen 1:24 God said, "I command the earth to give life to all kinds of tame animals, wild animals, and reptiles." And that's what happened.

Job 40:20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play.

Not in the Bible! How ever it doe say that God made all His animals enter the Ark. The unclean by 2's and the clean by 7's. I think it was in the early 1990's that an archaeologist found human foot prints running with dinosaur foot prints, there are also mapped sites that show the foot prints of Dino's and what they show is NOT a hunter/pray but a confused running toward higher ground type of thing.

Dinosaurs are not in the Bible because they had already gone extinct by the time the Bible was wrtten. About 65 million years before, and the people at that time had no way of knowing about them. However, just becasue they existance of dinosaurs is not mentioned in the Bible, does not make the story of Creation in the Bible inherantly untrue, it just means that things happened in a different time frame that the literal interpretation would suggest.

No, they are not. In my opinion, The Bible is about teaching people lessons on faith, understanding, love, and morals; not about Earth's history. There are a lot of things (like evolution) that we know takes place (we see it and it's studied) but contradicts what The Bible has to say. For example, if we did evolve from lower forms of humans then the story of Adam and Eve can not be accurate. But, that does not mean that religion is not true or that there is no God, it just means that life is more complicated than what people used to think.

Very unique question. I have never seen anyone asking this question before... How did you come up with such an original question?
The current Bible we hold, OT can be tracked to 700BC and NT 200-300AD but the word Dinosaurs came into existant in late 17th century.
Is it possible they called dinosaurs something else?

The bible doesn't say specifically what creatures were made, so many the dinos are lumped in. I don't know cause I wasn't there!

Genesis 1:23-24
"And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."
