Personaly i would say Devil wants became a GOD. Is it possible? sure it is Since GOD at any point can make Devil GOD. ( we hope that will never happened but its possible.)
Second best dream of the devil would be WIpe out the humanity. And look who did it? GOD did him self during Great flood what Devil could only dream of( and who cares for what reason anyway). Wow. Are we sure we are not confusing who is who ?

I think it WAS to wipe out the seed of David so the Messiah would not be born.
The reason this would be his dream is that if there was no Messiah, God would have had to either to send EVERYBODY or nobody to hell thus redeeming himself in heaven. He knew God was too compasionate to send everybody, but yet he knew if God had to keep his own decrees. He thought he had God in a bind.

Devil does NOT exist. He is not a real "creature". Its only our bad deeds and lack of love that separate us from God.
