It will help, but your best weapon for weight loss is your diet. You don't have to give up everything you love, but making some adjustments will accelerate your weight loss efforts. Here are a few tips:
1. Eat only when you're hungry (READ: Your stomach must be grumbling, and not from digesting whatever you ate or drank within the last one to two hours).
2. Don't stuff. Eat until you're pleasantly satisfied. You may have to cut your portions down, which may cause you to need to eat more often during the day, but as long as your stomach signals you that you need food, you're OK.
3. No between meal snacks.
4. Only drink water, diet soda, or unsweetened coffee and/or tea between meals.
5. Only sugarless gum or candy is allowed between meals.
6. When you eat, try to eat more of these:
-- Nuts of any kind
-- Beans and legumes
-- Green vegetables (spinach and broccoli are best)
-- Lowfat dairy products
-- Eggs (high in protein and "good" fat)
-- Olive oil (also high in "good" fat)
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry are best)
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fruits (any type of berries are best)
7. When you eat, try to eat less of these:
-- Anything with high fructose corn syrup, like soft drinks
-- Trans fat (partially or fully hydrogenated oils)
-- Processed sugar
-- Processed flour products (white bread, regular pasta, etc.)
8. Allow yourself to have a small dessert once a day, and remember chocolate is good for you as long as you don't go overboard
9. Give yourself 1/2 a day every week where you're allowed to eat whatever you want -- no restrictions, no limits
Good luck!

It's a great exercise program! Just make sure you eat a balanced, sensible meal program (not too restrictive) and be consistent with DDR and any other exercise. The goal is to get fit, and not get too skinny!

It will help most definately:) 20 lbs might be a bit of a stretch but it's good to set your goals high. Start with 5 lbs and work from there. Start with something attainable:) You can do it. It does give a good workout:)
