religious is often used in the common vernacular as a foil to the term spiritual. In this sense, religious may carry a pejorative sense of overly adhering to dogma or ritual at the expense of partaking in relationship with the divine.

I took a class on the history of religion at university. It was pretty interesting. Mostly self-taught though. My parents rarely said the 'G' word in our house, but I read a lot and read a lot of holy books.
And unlike a lot of people in the world, unfortunately, when people talk I actually listen to them. And process the information. That's helped.
Plus I've learnt a lot here at Y!A, but I'm not sure if what I've learned fits into the category of 'religion' or 'human behaviour'...

I get my information from the Highest Religious Authority...The BIBLE. Along with my Christian friends and the 7 different preachers we have in our church. And from GOD through prayer and meditation.

There are all sorts of sources for religious information. Most of them are not worth putting much trust in.
I get mine directly from God.
Yeah, I know...I'm gonna get Email :-}

mostly from Church and inspired bishop's( child molesters) .
Not many read the full bible . And even less of those who read it understood.
So i would say most education like in early Christainity comes from word of mouth and has nothing to do with knolwedge.
Bible can't be source of information since not that many ppl read it.
Therefore GOD and Church prohibits education.

I got mine from family members, different churches, ministers, and mostly by reading books that interest me in the different areas of religion. I do believe that religion itself is a big problem, as well as the interpretation of the bible, koran, etc. etc., however, I do consider myself a Christian that tries to live by the commandments in the new testament.... Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul, AND love they neighbor as yourself. Pretty difficult to live up to!

I think a lot of fundies take more of their info from their preacher than they do from their Bibles. BIG MISTAKE! I think that is one of the major things leading to the religious corruption we see today.

well as a child your usually thrown into some sort of sunday school....after they scare you to death your kinda sucked in....then you decide maybe it's just YOUR religion and try others...just to find it's all basically the same story with a few extra twist and turns...the bottom line is the same...so I'd say the info starts with family,then who ever else you choose to believe
