Most people answering this question have about the same opinion... don't buy a Chevy. I hate to say it, but try to stay away from domestic vehicles, or the Big Three, as they are called. They are competing for price in order to sell more, and the quality has slipped as a result. A foreign car, like Toyota or Honda (which are made mostly in the US now anyway) will be your best bet. They are more expensive, yes, but they will give you fewer problems and are worth more come trade in time.

They are good cars. The problem is, many, many other companies are making GREAT cars, which is why GM is near bankrupcy.
I would not advise buying a Chevy (late model Corvette excepted) because in most cases they make the worst car in every class (bad resale value too).
I suggest: Honda, Toyota, Acura, or Mazda.

As with anything used, it really depends on how it was treated previously. Chevy, makes a decent car and truck, but there are better manufacturers out there. In the truck market, Dodge seems to be in the front. In the car market probably Honda or Nissan, but I've had really good luck with Chrysler Products.

Why would anyone want to waste good money on a Chevy, when you can get a proven BETTER Japanese car. GM has had years to make an equally reliable car as that of Toyota, Honda etc. Instead they use the Toyota to make their Pontiac Vibe and Chevy Prism. What doe's that tell you ???????

All used cars are questionable because you don't know how they were cared for, age of the car, etc. In my opinion, Chevys are as good as any of them.
Find the particular car you plan to purchase and have a friend or mechanic look at the car with you to decide.

Brand for brand when it comes right down to it they are all made out of metal and plastic by humans..I've had Fords, GMs, Chrysler's, and Toyota's, had pretty good service from them all..Toyota's were good vehicles but they hurt my wallet when it came to repairs. Bottom line pick a vehicle, get it checked out by a qualified mechanic, then go for it..bear in mind most all used vehicles are high mileage..they always have been..,now a days they done roll back the mileage as they did in the past..

depends on the car/motor and if its used who drove it and how they took care of it. ive had 2 GM cars makers of chevy. one chevy and one pontiac. if well taken care of they can last between 100,000 and 300,000 miles without major problems. some motors Gm makes are not as good as others the 3800 motor is the best they make followed by some of the cadillac northstar motors. if you want to but a car that will last i say "no" to any domestic US car maker and buy toyota or honda. they can have the heck beat out of them and still last for ever. some toyota trucks have lasted for over a million miles. i own a toyota now ive never had a single poblem except i seem to never run out of gas.

they've been in business for a very long time, so i'd say they make good cars. it's all just opinion. to compare cars, go to a web site like caranddriver.com, or search vehicle reviews. their is quite an abundance of information on the web. you can even go to yahoo autos and find reviews.

Chevrolet truck platforms hold up very well. I've owned 6 now for my company. They are solid for towing, going offroad or driving in bad weather. I'd never buy one of their cars. Junk.

my grandfather owned a Chevy dealership so of course i will say that they are great cars. but in reality i really do like their vehicles. i have a 02 cavalier and i have never had any problems with it. i think they are just like all cars if you take care of it it will do better for you. and i definitely wouldn't buy a foreign model car like Toyota or Subaru and KIA's are just test cars to see how long it takes for them to break down!
