Hi there, I've had an abnormal mole on the sole of my foot for awhile. It has never changed in appearance, size, etc. but it has irregular borders. What are the chances of an abnormal mole turning into melanoma?

The mole really isn't that abnormal and I've had it for awhile with no changes (I know that even in your teens you can still get new moles; I'm 19) so I will probably either go to a dermatologist in the near future or monitor it for changes.

If it has never changed color or appearance then it should be no big deal. There is no such thing as irregular borders I don't think...it is just the shape of it you know? If you are worried...just go to the doctor.

Well I am not sure if it would turn into a melanoma. However, if you have a mole you should definitely get it checked out. Some moles are totally harmless and then some can be very dangerous. So to be safe go see your doctor.

How abnormal is it. If it is still sorta round then you're probably fine. If the mole is abnormal like a random puddle shape then you should probably get it checked out

If you have not been to a Dermatologist, do so now. Its best to be examined to determine any mole , lump or suspicious skin change.

Is it black? That is a good sign it is cancerous. Let your doc look at it, probably a wart.
