Anything that lives in the water is seafood, so yes, salmon is seafood. And no, not all salmon is freshwater. Alaskan salmon lives in the ocean, but the 5-20 pounders I pull out of Lake Michigan are freshwater.

Sorry guys. Freshwater fish is NOT seafood. Most menus list items under "FISH and SEAFOOD" meaning that not all fish is seafood.

some are freshwater, some are farm raised, there are three or four different kinds of salmon, but yes it is considered seafood.

it is consdiered sea food in the grocery store but yes it is a fresh water fish. it used to be called the poor mans meat in early america but now it is expensive:-( it is very good
