We have a huge garden, and I want to dehydrate some of the veggies. But I also want to store them in the freezer.
I was wondering if I could do both.

There is no need to do both. Actually you would be left with hardly anything.

Maybe freeze drying is an option?

Else try The National Center for Home Food Preservation :

Freezing would ruin most everything but if you dehydrate them then vacuum pack them I am sure you could get a year or more of storage. Of course it all depends on what veggies you are going to try to do this with. Some will never keep their consistency no matter what you do. So be careful but don't be afraid to experiment.

A lot of people are hooked on the RONCO items but apparently not through experience. Here is the link to one of the best dehydrators that has a great warranty and a lot of add on items. The design is very good also.

I've never heard of freezing dehydrated veggies. They just have to be kept in a sealed dry place.

You don't need to freeze them after they are dehydrated. They are good for up to a year in a zip bag with all the air pressed out.

Go to the ronco website.

Dehydrated foods usually do not require freezing. Packaging companies just seal them in vacuum bags. Look in your grocery store.
