u could probably find plans for a homemade "sten" gun if u searched around online...the only hard part is finding a barrel...im sure u could hack it out of another legal rifle. i dont think any situation calls for a light machine gun anyway just a semi with a large clip work fine. a heavy one would be useful for defending a street from a good position but would be prohibitively expensive to buy or buy ammo for so if u can afford that get the liscense pay the fees and look around online. a barret .50 with a 20 round clip would be awesome even with a semi. 1911A1 30 cal belt fed can be had in semi also i think or u could look around for a template and plans for the full auto side plate he he...
