Catholic Church means universal church. Every Jesus believing churches are Catholic Church.
You mean Roman Catholic? Yes, they started much earlier.
Initially, it is only Catholic Church. But when the east been conquered by the Muslim, the western church began to gain more power. Slowly it become Roman Catholic church.
The east were the Eastern Orthodox, based in Byzantine. The west was the other half of Europe based in Rome.
Pentecostal movement started sometime in the late 1800'. But those signs were actually recorded in the begining of the church history.
During the 3 or 4 century, where people began to teach that they need only to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit and not the bible, the bible believer began to ban together and reject all teaching on the Holy Spirit.
The signs and wonders of the spirit is not something new. If the Holy Spirit is true, the Holy Spirit should teach in accordence to the Bible.
The both teaching should go hand in hand. But exclusive of the other.
So, in short, pentecostal church is something new.

If be 'pentecostal' you are referring to the Day of Pentecost. Then of course that was about 150-200 or so years before the Catholics, and their assumption of the Roman power. You see, before the Catholics ALL Christians kept the Seventh day Sabbath, and not the First Day Sabbath. The First day was an Catholic/Pagan day of worship ( of the Sun ). In order to get more nominal converts, and fill their coffers, the Catholics changed the day God made Holy, and Sanctified, into the day that the Pagans worshiped upon. Read you history.

Yes. The Catholic Church started around the time of the Ottomann Empire when the schism occurred between the Eastern and Western faiths within Christianity.

The Catholic Church is older than the modern day pentecosal movement.
However, since I am a pentecostal, this does not bother me.
My question would be: Whose doctrine is older? i.e. What did the first century church believe?
Quite a debatable topic to say the least.

The Catholic Church was started by Jesus Christ and has remained steady for almost 2,000 years although the name "Catholic" wasn't used until 107 AD.
According to Adherents.com, the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World started in 1919.
With love in Christ.

Oh yes, way before. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus and carried on by his Apostles. All other Christian denominations branched off from the Catholic Church to form their own religion.
