Mexican cuisine is delicious, and there was no need for the immigration for it to be noticed all around the world, for people who really knows about food.

It is not only Tacos, we have lots of food that is hard just to remember all. I will mention some that maybe most people have no idea that all this exists, and how good this food is:
Enchiladas, cecina, tamales - a lot of diferent kind like uchepos, tamales oaxaqueños and corundas; huitlacoche, chinicuiles, mole - diferent kind as well, pipian, morisqueta, cabrito, pozole, moronga, barbacoa de borrego, barbacoa de cabeza, menudo, zacahuil ..... and on, and on, and on...

Albireo.. i don't know how old is Taco Bell, but the migration from Mexico to the USA, is a real old situation, that has just been more visible in the last years.

Much of Western America was Mexico until the the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Mexican cuisine was what people ate, or the badly overcooked meats and veggies of the Eastern gringos, the new immigrants. The fancy schmancy "Mexican" restaurants that now paint everything with chipotle sauce aren't Mexican , their menus are designed to meet the tastes of uneducated eaters.

Mexican cuisine? You mean that "real" Mexican food at On the Border, Cozymel's, and Posados? LOL. Yeah, I couldn't stop getting my hands on Chimichangas in the DF when I was there. Moron.

I think it's the other way around, more Mexicans are giving up Mexican food for American food - just that much better they say.

Definitely. Along with people wanting to learn to speak Spanish. If there are more of them, it becomes more and more precious to speak their language...if only more people embraced the idea of a new culture in America.
