I agree. They just don't seem to really understand or comprehend what the word "ILLEGAL" literally means, it just simply does not register into their brains. They seem to think it is a part of the word 'immigration', they seem to ignore the first word, 'illegal'. An 'immigrant' and an "ILLEGAL immigrant" are two very different people.
They don't have the intelligence, initiative, strength, stamina or determination to strive for a better life in their own country. It's just 'easier' to come into the USA and freeload off hardworking, legal American citizens who have been paying taxes all their lives to make this the best country in the world to live in. If it were not such a wonderful country, people would not be wanting to IMMIGRATE here so much. The reason it is so wonderful is because we had people who fought and died to make it like it is, people who 'immigrated' here legally and strived, worked hard, voted, made changes, passed laws, enforced laws and made it better. We still fight, die, work hard, vote, pass laws, and strive to make it better and to KEEP it as is and improve on it. ILLEGAL people coming into the USA undermine everything we have worked for and achieved. They need to go!

I personally believe that if Illeagle immigrants want a better life, hey should feel free to come to this country, but they should come to this country LEGALLY. Then they 1) arent Illeagle immagrants and 2) prevent makng our country a third world country, since they would have to pay taxes and everything like American Citizens would. I also believe that if people come here, they should know the language. I wouldn't move to Japan annd expect everyone to speak english, would I?

well, we cant make a better life because there is nothing to make us better. There is no money, no jobs, nothing. Its like asking you to make a better life but you cant have a job or a place to sleep.
I haven't messed anyones life up. In fact, when I first came to America, I worked my a.s.s. off to make sure you Americans had luxury. I washed your clothes, cleaned your houses, and cut your lawns while your teens were at the mall. I don't think that qualifies as making America a third world country!!!
You have had it good all your life compared to me. Get over it and get a job busting your pansy a.s.s. It might open your eyes.
AND. getting here legally, is almost impossible. The waiting list is seven years, that's just to be heard. No promises. I came here on a visa and met my future husband. His family helped me with citizenship. I never expected Americans to know Spanish. But they act as if right after I cross, I should know everything.

It is simple human nature. Traditionally, there has been very little in the way of sanctions or repercussions for illegal entry into, or overstaying in, the United States, so there has been no reason not to come to the US, or stay in the US, illegally. That said, it is much easier to come to a country that has a higher standard of living and many concomitant benefits, rather than protesting and struggling for sociopolitical and economic reform in their own country that would react with torture, prison and death squads.

Many, many countries don't offer opportunity for their citizens to live a decent life, much less get ahead. People are abused and repressed. And those countries that do offer hope for their citizens...well, you don't see any illegal immigrants from them coming here. Those people who come here do so because America represents opportunity and a better way of life; allowing people to partake in the American way of life is one of the cornerstones of our country.
That being said...
Illegal immigration needs to be better addressed. Those people who come here illegally need to be treated compassionately, but also not allowed to stay unless they agree to go through the formal immigration process - like all of our ancestors did. You want to come to America and become a citizen, you need to do it the right way.

Just curious...why is it that illegal immigrants are willing to bust their @$$ in low paying, demeaning jobs, but are afraid to work at getting through the legalization process to become a US citizen? I know many need the quick fix, but in the long run I would think it would be a heck of alot better than constantly looking over your shoulder. (Not to mention, it's a slap in the face to their brothers and sisters who worked like heck to become a true American citizen.)

You're right. The longer we let illegals into this country, the longer we keep it from getting better in Mexico. We keep lifting the lid on a pot that's about to boil over.
