My answer is yes, because Jesus ministered to all sorts of people and we should too. Supporting Church missionaries is good too, but there are many worthy organizations out there that deserve our support. But I think that many churches especially strict fundamental baptist churches don't support outside organizations, because they are not strictly fundamental baptist, and I think that is wrong.

It is very important to be still, and listen for the Voice of God. He will let you know where you are most needed.
Unfortunately, alot of churches work against God by stifling that Voice in the hearts of their members, replacing it with the voice of the church (some without even realizing it). This has been going on for centuries.
I think it is up to the individual. Are you following Jesus Christ, or are you following some human organization?

I agree but disagree with the first answer. I agree that there are definitely many worthy and good organizations that deserve our support, especially if we support them with Christ as our helper. I disagree that the fundamental Baptist Churches don't support outside groups, because I am a strict fundamental baptist, and I feel strongly about supporting outside organizations, as long as you continue to give your full support to your church organizations as well, and as long as the organization doesn't conflict with any of your beliefs as a Christian.

I think its sad that some churches don't support outside service organizations. There's a service fraternity on my campus and my Catholic Church donates money every time they have a fundraiser, etc. Most Christians don't really know what Christ stood for and are to selfish to help their fellow man as Jesus wanted us too.

Please keep your ilk inside the doors of your church. You freaks are so hell bent on forcing your own twisted beliefs on others that it turns what used to be passive naysayers into activists against the church.
Perhaps the day may come where Christians actually respect other religions .. but I'm not holding my breath.
Until then, I believe all organized religions are an evil plague upon our civilization on this earth ... and should be crushed.

You are right we are to follow in the steps of Christ JESUS and to do as He did.

Its not about keeping it /our services and skills only within the church organisation. That would mean that would not be Christlike at all. We are supposed to mingle and spread Gods fragrance, showing love, kindness, compassion, humility, forgiveness, gentleness, etc to the righteous and the unrighteous.

Basically we are the blessing and should be a blessing.

I think its important for churches to work in their community and try to make things better there, and most definatly donate some of the collection to charities that help people in other countries or to help cure diseases or something like that. It shouldn't matter if the organizations aren't part of their belief, but that they are doing what they can to help wherever they are trying to help.

This is not really a Christian or religious question, but one of SOCIAL ETHICS.

We should ALL be involved in service organizations. It's the right thing to do as a HUMAN.

It's important for everyone (not just Christians) to be involved in service organisations. The human race needs to work together to improve the lives of everyone. It doesn't matter if you're a Christian, Jew, Muslim, or any other religion or lack thereof. Everyone is a human, and we all need to help each other.

I think that nothing that works towards the social justice and human dignity of every person can be bad.

Therefore, support of such things can only be a good idea.

Then again, if you don't BELIEVE in social justice and the dignity of all humanity...well, then it might not seem like a great idea.

i'm guessing that should be the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. that's in mine. Oh, excuse me -- which section or which assembly? in case you propose which kind of assembly/religious service, i'd ought to say our Sacrament assembly (the position we, you recognize, take the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper). call it useful in case you desire, yet each and every now and then we contributors of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints look particularly below creative even as it includes naming issues (except for the bogus names that one of those number of Mormons supply their daughters).
