I think it's on a case by case basis. I have some friends who started out as **** buddies and have been happily married for 4 years. I really think it depends on the two people in it, but I really think it depends a lot on the guy. I think guys can detach easier than girls. You have to get to know the person before you can tell. If you're willing to go into it and accept that nothing may come of it, then you're good. Never say never, but the probability isn't real high either.

I think it depends on the people. In general, I would say that sex on the first date is not a good idea if you want a real relationship with that person. There are many reasons for this which you probably already know, but among them is the fact that the guy although flattered and happy that she wanted him so badly, will eventually begin wondering if the girl has done that on all of her first dates. Not a good thing for him to wonder about since it will lead to disrespect and/or jealousy. Of course, most men are so egotistical that they will believe it was the first time anything like that has ever happened to her, she was just so overwhelmed by his sex appeal! I've used that and it actually works!

Well I did with my hubby on the first night and we have two children and have been together ever since and we have a 6years old and 10month old so each story is goign to be different. It also depends on the situation between the two people. Good Luck and do what you think is right for you

Depends, I guess.
I've had one relationship that lasted about a year after sex on the first date. Any others were just a fun time thing for a couple months.
It's not impossible though. If you both click, you click :)

I wouldn't. To me, a sexual relation implies a level of commitment that can't really be achieved until you have known someone for a while; one date isn't enough. But it may not take long; seven years ago, my wife and I had been together only two days when we decided that the relationship would probably work. (It did.)

I have never been able to make a long term relationship work well with someone I had a one night stand with.

I dont think that you could expect a long term relationship from it. Eventuallly you two are going to TRY to hold a conversation, and realize that the only thing holding you together is the intimacy.

Every woman I have not had sex with on the first date, ended up not being an item with me. Women I have had sex with on a first date ended up being much more serious realtionships, including my first wife, and 20 years later, after I unforunately divorced, my seond wife.
