Why Atheist people say the war goin on in the middle east is religious war when terrorism has no religion?

Are they tryin to stirr hatred by saying its religious war..So people give up their religion and get christians against muslims?

Did any christian or muslim said its a holy war or did u hear them say? or did athiest jus making up themselves?

Who are these athiest people trying to instigate a war? How would "athiests" saying this cause people to give up there religion? If you have studied the crusades, then you would know that religion needs no athiests to stir things up.

I know plenty of muslims who call the war in the middle east a religious war. BTW which war are you talking about? That is a very vague reference. There is at least two wars going on. US's war on terror and Isreal vs Palestine. Not to mention the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka and in Iraq again with Islamic militants attacking Iraq citizens and US Persons there.

It's assumed to be a religious war because the Taliban instigated the conflict under the guise of a Holy War. Same reason why Milosevic and Hitler had their whole genetic cleansing thing going on.

The answer to your question, though, is that people will try and find a scapegoat in anything if they're afraid enough.

Terrorism doesn't have to have religion to exist, correct.

But the terrorism we're seeing today IS religious. They've said it themselves, it's not something anyone is making up.
We are "supposedly" fighting to free the Iraqis so the U.S. role is not religious- based. But the terrorists there, THEIR mission is religion based (self-admitted). Regarding the war, we are neutral in religious matters, they are not. We don't give a rat's butt what religion they are, just that they are non-violent in their actions.
