I can actually say I had a very charmed childhood. I remember there always being good times. We didn't have much, but we had each other (5 kids) and we made the best of what we had. My parents never burdened us with the financial situation or anything for that matter, so it seemed like we had a BLAST!! everyday. Looking back now I know sometimes we did struggle or whatever, but having been blessed with EXTREMELY GREAT!!! parents we were never sad/worried. I am VERY VERY THANKFUL for those 2 people, not many people have parents like mine!!!
Be Blessed!!!

That even though I couldn't have possibly known it, that I had a sense that I was having a very good life. I wasn't rich or even privlidged. My mother raised my older brother and I alone, but she made an ok living. My mom did a lot with us, took us on adventures and we seemed to be envied by our friends. As an adult, I realize of course the sacrifices my mom made so that we could have that life. And for that I am and will be enternally grateful to her. Now as a mother, I try to do and be the same for my children, so that when they look back over their lives, they too can say "I had a very happy childhood".

My father making a special effort every friday to make it movie night either by watching a film on tv or renting one, even if I had seen the same dame movie a thousand times, I remember my father a lot in general since he passed away a few years ago. But I'm much older now and mature and can understand that things happen all for a good reason!

i remember being fearless. playing in the yard with my puppy, riding the pony at my grandmas, feeding the chickens, making homemade ice cream with an old crank bucket, swimming in the pond, cooking hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire, watching the stars at night laying on a blanket with my family, going to the zoo, just happiness , love , and laughter. i had a pretty idyllic childhood :)

Being daddies little girl. He always let me "help" out in the garage. He's set me up with some supplies and I'd build away. I was probably more in the way than anything, but he didn't seem to mind. Today I'm not so interested to be out in the garage getting all dirty, but there's still a little part of me that will always be daddies little girl.

I remember me going to my grandparent's house every weekday and watching Sesame Street and Lambchop. I also remember my grandma trying to teach me how to sing and play the piano.

The very first funeral I ever went to I was 10 years old. It was for a great uncle of mine who died in his sleep due to diabetes. Needless to say, at the funeral was the entire family. My family was raised very religious. I asked the question to my dad "why did God take someone we love away from us?" my dad answered the best way he could and all I can remember is my answer is "I hate God for taking Uncle ***** away from us, I loved him and God is not nice whatsoever for doing this to me!" An aunt of mine heard my remark, she snatched me up by my hair, flipped me upside down to where my dress went over my head and beat my butt until it bled. Needless to say, ever since the first time I went to a funeral, I have not liked going to them since and still get flashbacks from it.
