I've never seen a dog climb before...but my dog climbs her gate and pushes herself over. I thought that i was out-smarting her by boarding up the holes in the gate, but she has now figure out that with enough force she can just push herself over. It's not a short gate, either. It comes up to my stomach and my dog doesn't even reach my knees. i think that she's a "super doggie" but whatever...does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

okay...thanks for your answers. but let me clarify that i use the gate to keep her contained while i am at work. i don't trust her to just hang around the house all day so i bought the gate. the gate worked well until she figured out how climb/jump it.

Some dogs are smart like that. Either you need a higher gate, or a cable to put your dog on while you're away. In fact, I think the cable is probably a more sure thing.

Try a 4 foot baby gate... that one kept my akita in check. Every other gate he has jumped or climbed. and make sure the dog has enough toys and things to keep him entertained when you are gone.
My 4 foot gate came up to my shoulders... and I found it at a pet supply store, so try one of those out.

That's very cute.
Get a new gate that doesn't have holes and that is more sturdy. The one you've got just isn't cutting it. You might also try spraying the gate with bitter apple spray (from the doggie store). That might keep her from getting within climbing distance of it.

Get a sceond gate and stack them one on top ofthe other.
It worked for my guy who was jumping the shorter one.
He quit trying when it was taller.
I also put a chair in front of the gate on the dogs side so he can not push it over.
Good luck.

I would take the gate down and put her on a leash that she cannot chew through. If you have her gated up while you leave your house perhaps you coulld establish a different kind of gate perhaps made out of a outdoor metal screen gaurd specially to keep animals from ruining the screen door. My teacup Chihuahua used to chew his way through the gate and bounce his way out of a portable playpen! It was time to put him on a leash in a spot of the house but he chewed through about ten of them. I had to search around for the lightest weight metal chain (becasue full grown he only weighs 4.6 lbs.) and change his harness to a collar (because he would chew that off too) so he wouldn't weigh him down and he couldn't chew through it or scratch up the floor. Now we are in working order! But I would try looking through a hardware store and become creative. Perhaps if you add on to the top of the gate a slanted gated area faced towards his direction might help.
good luck

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/ChLPh
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

My Pit Bulls had the same problem until we placed a few trash cans against the gate now they can't get over the gate. Also she could be in heat to give her the Super powers you say she has.
