It sounds a little obsessive compulsive to me. I like the " I didn't try hard to get this look" myself, but whatever floats her boat.

I used to do that... years later I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder of the symmetrical type...
Maybe she's mentally ill and just doesn't know it yet?
