INS process is very hard and very expensive. I am married to a illegal person and have been trying to get his residence for 2 years now, and we still have about 2 more years to go before he even gets considered to get a "Visa". We have paid about 10 grand in attorney and application fees. I suggest getting a attorney but as a friend there is really nothing that you can do. It is a very, very hard thing to do. I will have to live without my husband for a year and a half. Go to school, work and support myself in order for him to even get considered. He will have to be in Mexico and then if he gets his visa he can come back but that is after a year or more. I am not trying to put your hopes down. I am just telling you that it is hard but not impossible. I wish he could stay because I go to school and concentrate on studying while he works and supports me. I really love him but life is not easy. GOOD LUCK!!
PS. Don't listen to what all these other people have to say. They have no clue what it is like. Illegals are good people not criminals. and the worst thing you could do to help out your friends is to call INS. DO NOT CALL INS. That would only get them in trouble. Tell them to go to Catholic charities immigration offices and that is the best place to start off with. They will designate a attorney to help them for a very low price. There are so many organizations out there do some research for them. One in Dallas, Texas is casita Maria.

no one thinks that if unlawful immigrants weren't right here there's a utopia (you're quite ranting better than asking a question). Frankly, i do not care what color someone is or what language they communicate, any non citizen needs to persist with particular guidelines and quidelines to enter the rustic. guidelines are guidelines. If the guidelines are damaged, they pick to be deported and only allowed to come back decrease back in the journey that they do it the criminal way. i am going to't purely bypass to any usa i'd pick to withouth finding out the guidelines first, why ought to human beings entering american be treated any distinct.

Call INS and tell them that you have some illegal alien friends that you would like for them to come help out with :) Be sure to give the INS their full names, any aliases, their home address, and how many of them are shacked up in the one apartment.

If a Illegal Immigrant marries a U.S. Citizen, that would be the main way they can stay in the U.S.

Look in the Yellow Pages under Government, US -- Department of Homeland Sec.
Tell them your problem in detail. They'll appreciate the laugh. They won't do anything.
If you're a Roman Catholic, seek out Catholic Family Services. They subsidize lawyers working on citizenship cases such as yours.

I have noticed that with you people who support illegals you are always looking for the "easy" way instead of the "right" way.

Why do you want to help people whose first act in this country is to commit a crime? You sound like you're about 10 years old. Tell your friends to go back to Mexico and apply for U.S. citizenship through legal immigration...just like everybody else.

the local INS office can help you, just give them their names, addresses and what time they can be found at home, the INS will show up with the proper forms to make them legal.
also provide their work addresses as well, just in case the INS wishes to expedite the process and get them registered quick to vote this november.
