I think we should keep it. The Pledge of Allegiance goes back a lot further than this debate about the separation of church and state.

Get rid of it. There are plenty of "good" people who do not believe in god. Religion should be a private thing if the individual is more comfortable that way. By the way, which god does the pledge refer to?

To an above post> Since when does God forbid honor and respect to our country? O_o I missed that one in Sunday school...
Anywhose, I don't really think it makes a difference either way. If it's there, people who don't believe in God can just not say it. Two words, do they really make your life THAT difficult? On the other hand, there would be no real detriment if it were removed.

Well, if you want to keep it, then we should as a multi-cultural society, add Allah, Jehovah, and whatever other deities may be believed in.
It would be better to get rid of god and have under the Sun or under the skies, or something more neutral like under nothing.

Lose the whole pledge. It's idolotry and it's ridiculous. Wanting to keep God's name in something he's forbids is like condemning someone for not saying grace over a stolen meal.

I don't mind it being there, but I don't see a reason for it to really be there - its only been there for about 50 years as a response to 'godless' communists. It might save alot of trouble by removing it again, by not giving all these people a pathetic excuse to not say the pledge.

You know, I am christian, and I believe that they should take it out. The United states was based on religious(sp?) freedom, and not everyone believes in god, therefor it should not be put into a pledge that all American citizens have to say.

Get rid of it. We are a secular nation, founded on hypocrisy, not 'god'. 'god' blessed America long ago. Then the white folks showed up unfortunately.

I think we should keep it!
If people don't believe in God, or don't want to say it, they can stay silent during that part. I've even known people who don't say the pledge at all, and that's their prerogative!

Since we speak english and G-d can translate to any one's G-d keep it. "One nation under God" can be under allah, buddah (whom buddists dont worship), under anyone. The only people against it are those with no G-d, so they can say one nation under science XD
