it's a toenail fungus. very hard to get rid of. I've tried every remedy here is and am having my first results with hydrogen peroxide soaks daily....I've been using it for three weeks and after 7 years of fighting it i think i found the cure.....I'm using dilute 35%...at about a 17% strength...it burns a little but it's working....i think I'll have to do it for around 6 months...also remove as much of the old yellow part as possible every few days...good luck... google h202 to learn more..

You do have a Fungal infection in your nail bed. You have probably injured your toes in the past and the injury caused the discoloration.

Because it is a fungal infection, you will need to clear it up so that it won't infect your other nails. Be sure to wash your clippers after you have clipped your nails because it can be transferred to the other toes as well.

Talk your doctor and he will prescribe to you Lamisil in the pill form. There is also a creme that you can get over the counter. Which will be helpful. But the pill form will help if the infection gets in your system.

Sometimes the nail will get really thick from the infection. Soak your toes in warm water and a little vinegar for a few minutes. Then take a foot file and gently file the entire top of the nail for about a minute. Just to smooth the nail. Do this once a day until the nail evens out. Don't do it for too long in one day or it will become tender. Just a little each day.

That process and taking your meds will cause the nail to heal without discoloration. It does take awhile though. But it is best to get it taken care of immediately to prevent infection to the other nails.

well got get your toe nails done at a shop and maybe their just dirty. and if that doesnt work go see the dr and he can give you a cream. its really not that uncommon it could be that you hit your toes on something and didnt realize it and thats why they look the way they do. also try to keep your feet as dry as possible cause your toe nail might be more sensitive then others. just put baby powder on your feet before putting them in shoes, trim your toes nail and lotion them after shower and powder them. dont wear open toe shoes and keep them dry and get a dr to look at them if nothing else works.
