Like john m said, chilver rhymes with silver.... even if it is now obsolete except for its use in proving that there is a word that rhymes with silver!

Curple and hirple do rhyme with purple, but according to the OED, sporange should not be pronounced to rhyme with orange (more like spor 'undj with the accent on the second syllable).

the word chilver does. It means a ewe lamb. It is also a fallacy that orange and purple have no rhyming words associated - sporange (a botanical term) and curple (a piece of horse-riding equipment).

By that, he means there is none. It's one of the seven (or nine, I forget) words in the English language that do not rhyme with anything else.

apparently no word rhymes with silver but i'm listening to missie elliot and if she can make the word 'bird' rhyme with the word 'scared' (she says scurd) then i reckon anything's possible :)
